Next Generation Manufacturing Investment Programme

Phil StumpPolaris support helps local business gain access to Federal grant to grow their business and local jobs.  Stevens Structural was formed about 5 years ago by two young directors focussed on building quality and outstanding customer service at their Elizabeth factory.  In 2014 while knocking on doors of businesses in Norther Adelaide the Polaris’s Northern Adelaide Manufacturing Development Officer came across this business bursting at the seams in their Elizabeth West premises.  Unaware of the different programs established by government to support manufacturing in SA Stevens Structural were initially connected into the Department of State Developments Manufacturing Works program.

The challenges for all businesses when focussed on the day to day operations are how to get connected into the support that is available and this is where Polaris tries to provide that conduit. When the Australia Government announced the Next Generation Manufacturing Investment Programme the Polaris team were quick to promote this capital focussed program including an information session for interested businesses.  Stevens Structural, like many other northern Adelaide businesses, sort more info and support from the Polaris team including the knowledge and skills to complete an application.  Here the best solutions for the busy Stevens team were connections to the skills of specialist consulting firms able to assist in completing their application..

Having nine of the fifteen successful applicants in the northern region is a real boost for northern manufacturing.  Polaris is also committed to assisting the large number of unsuccessful northern business for this program as they look for alternative support to fast track their business expansion plans.
